Property Converters control the appearance and behavior of a property in the Property Grid

Converters define 3 things about a property:

Text Conversion

Converters control how the property value is converted to text when displayed in the Property Grid. They may optionally define logic for converting a text value edited in the Property Grid back to the property value. For example, a property of type Rectangle displays a text representation of the rectangle which can be edited by the user. This is done using a Property Converter.

Predefined Value Lists

Converters may define a list of predefined values for a property, which the user selects from a drop-down list in the Property Grid.

Expandable Child Properties

Converters may also define dynamic child properties. When this is the case, the property will be expandable in the Property Grid. As an example, this allows a property of type Rectangle can be expanded, so that the Left, Top, Width, and Height may be edited individually.
