Batch Creation Settings

Select the Batch Process Step where each new batch should begin processing. This determines the workflow entry point for imported content. Choosing the correct step is essential for ensuring that imported batches are processed according to your solution's requirements.

For example, you might start batches at a classification step to enable automated document type assignment, or at a review step for manual validation.

Displays the Batch Process that contains the selected starting step. This is determined automatically based on the selected step. Use this property to verify which process will be used for new batches. Changing the 'Starting Step' will update this value.

Use the 'Folder Levels' property to map source folder structure into the batch hierarchy. Each entry defines a folder level and the Content Type to assign to the resulting Batch Folder. This enables you to preserve, flatten, or adapt the organization of your source content as needed.

For example, if your source path is \Share\Invoices\2024\March\Invoice123.pdf, you can map the year and month folders as batch subfolders.

Controls the batch size for import operations. When the limit is reached, a new batch is created. Use this to optimize processing and resource usage. For example, set a lower value to create smaller, more manageable batches, or a higher value for bulk processing.

Sets the processing priority for new batches. Lower values are processed first. Adjust this to control the order in which batches are handled by the system. Use this property to ensure that urgent or time-sensitive batches are processed ahead of others.

When enabled, each new batch will have a higher priority value than the previous, allowing for sequential ordering of batch processing. This is useful when importing multiple batches in a single operation and you want to control their processing order.

Enable this option to create a batch where the imported document is the root folder, rather than a child of a root batch folder. This is useful for single-document batch scenarios, simplifying the batch structure and making the document easier to access.

When enabled, new batches will not begin processing automatically. Use this to allow for review or manual intervention before processing starts. This is helpful in scenarios where batches require user validation or additional configuration before workflow execution.

Use 'Start Delay' to introduce a pause (in seconds) after batch creation before processing begins. This can help stagger processing or allow for system resource management. For example, set a delay to avoid overloading the system when importing large numbers of batches at once.

Enable this option to automatically organize batches into a date-based folder structure, improving navigation and historical organization. This is especially useful for high-volume environments where batches are created daily or more frequently.
