Data Grid Document

Displays data for an individual document or content type within the Data Grid.

The Data Grid Document control presents the extracted data for a single document or content type inside the Data Grid.
It serves as the main review and editing interface for document-level data, supporting both hierarchical and tabular views.

Purpose and Functionality

• Displays all extracted fields, tables, and sections for the selected document or content type.
• Supports both standard hierarchical data model views and custom tabular views (via Virtual Table Definition).
• Provides context-sensitive commands and menus for document-level actions, such as flagging, validation, and workflow operations.
• Integrates with error handling, sticky values, and preview rendering for focused review scenarios.

Interactive Components

• Root Container:
  The main area displays the root container of the document's Data Model, organizing fields, sections, and tables in a logical hierarchy.

  • Uses the 'Container' control to render all child data elements.
  • Supports expand/collapse, navigation, and editing of nested data.

• Virtual Table:
  If a Virtual Table Definition is configured, the control displays a flat, spreadsheet-like table for reviewing and editing repeating data.

  • Columns correspond to selected Data Fields or Data Columns.
  • Rows represent items in a Data Table or multi-instance Data Section.
  • Supports keyboard navigation, paging, and error highlighting.

• Context Menu:
  Provides document-level commands via a right-click menu, including flagging, clearing, and custom workflow actions.

  • Menu adapts to the document's type, status, and available commands.
  • Only enabled commands are shown, based on workflow and configuration.

Error Handling and Validation

• Highlights invalid or missing values, and displays error counts for the document.
• Integrates with document flagging, allowing users to mark documents for review or exception handling.
• Supports error list-only mode, displaying only invalid elements for focused correction.

Accessibility & Usability

• Keyboard navigation is fully supported for efficient review and editing.
• Context menus provide quick access to document-level actions.

Example Workflow

1. Select a document in the Data Grid.
2. The DataGridDocument control displays all extracted data for the document.
3. Review and edit fields, sections, and tables as needed.
4. Use the context menu to flag the document, clear values, or perform workflow actions.
5. Save changes and resolve any errors or validation issues.

How to Use The Container is automatically displayed when viewing a document in standard (hierarchical) mode. Click to expand or collapse sections, and edit values directly in the grid. Use context menus and keyboard shortcuts for efficient review and correction. Example > Expand the "Vendor Information" section to review and edit all vendor-related fields for an invoice document.
Virtual Table	Virtual Table	►	Displays a virtual table for the document, if a Virtual Table Definition is configured. Overview The VirtualTable control presents document data in a flat, spreadsheet-like table, based on the configured Virtual Table Definition. This view is ideal for reviewing and editing repeating data, such as line items or multi-instance sections. Purpose and Functionality Renders selected Data Fields or Data Columns as columns, and document items as rows. Supports keyboard navigation, paging, sorting, and error highlighting. Enables efficient review and correction of tabular data, especially for documents with complex tables. How to Use The VirtualTable is displayed in place of the Container when a Virtual Table Definition is active. Use arrow keys to move between cells, and Ctrl + arrow keys for cell-to-cell navigation. Edit values directly in the table, and use context menus for row-level actions. Example > Review and correct line item details for an invoice by editing values in the VirtualTable view.
Context Menu	Context Menu	►	Displays document-level commands and actions via a context menu. Overview The ContextMenu control provides a right-click menu for document-level actions within the Data Grid. It adapts its available commands based on the document type, status, and workflow configuration. Purpose and Functionality Offers quick access to commands such as flagging, clearing values, running extraction, or launching workflow actions. Only enabled commands are shown, based on the current document and configuration. Supports both standard and custom actions, including integration with batch processing and review workflows. How to Use Right-click anywhere in the document area to open the Context Menu. Use arrow keys to navigate, Enter or Space to execute, and Escape to close. Common commands include: Flag Document, Clear All Values, Run Extraction, and workflow-specific actions. Example > Right-click a flagged document and select "Flag Document" to mark it for exception handling.
