Convert Data - Create Convert Actions

The Instructions property allows you to supply custom guidance or requirements to the large language model (LLM) when it generates Data Actions for mapping or transforming data. Use this property to clarify business rules, specify naming conventions, or address special scenarios that are not obvious from the source and target schemas alone.

Purpose

• Refine or direct the LLM’s output to better match your business needs.
• Communicate special mapping logic, calculations, or field handling that should be considered during action generation.
• Ensure that generated Data Actions comply with organizational standards or unique workflow requirements.

Usage Guidance

• Enter clear, concise instructions in plain language.
• You may include examples, rules, or specific mapping requirements.
• If left blank, the LLM will generate actions based solely on the structure and data types of the source and target models.

Example:

Map the "InvoiceDate" field to "DateIssued" and convert the format from MM/DD/YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD.
Ignore any fields related to "InternalNotes".
For line items, ensure that "Quantity" is always copied as an integer.

Impact

Providing instructions can significantly improve the relevance and accuracy of the generated Data Actions, especially for complex or non-standard data models.
