Field Instance - Rubberband Header Label

Field Instance Command GrooperReview.DataGrid

Select the label used on the document for this field or column.

Remarks

The Rubberband Header Label command enables users to manually select and assign the label text for a field or column by drawing a rubberband region directly on the document image. This is especially useful for documents with variable, ambiguous, or non-standard header labels that cannot be reliably detected by automated extraction methods.

How It Works

  • The user drags a rectangular selection ("rubberband") over the desired label area on the document.
  • The command extracts the text within the selected region and assigns it as the label for the target Field Instance or Table Cell Instance.
  • For table cells, the label is added to the corresponding Table Header Instance, updating the header structure as needed.
  • For fields, the label is stored as a context instance, enabling improved extraction, validation, and UI presentation.

Usage Guidance

  • Use this command when header or field labels are not reliably detected, or when manual adjustment is required for accuracy.
  • Ideal for documents with merged, rotated, or multi-line labels, or when labels are positioned inconsistently.
  • Supports both individual fields and table columns, adapting the label assignment logic accordingly.

Extraction Workflow

  1. Select the label region using the rubberband tool.
  2. Execute the command to extract and assign the label.
  3. For table cells, the label is added or updated in the header; for fields, the context instance is set.
  4. Changes are registered for audit and review.
