Table Instance - Rubberband Header

Table Instance Command GrooperReview.DataGrid

Capture the table header for a Table Instance by dragging a rubberband region on the document.

Remarks

The Rubberband Header command enables interactive extraction of table headers by allowing users to select a region directly on the document image. This approach is ideal for documents where header locations vary, are not easily detected by automated methods, or require manual adjustment for accuracy.

How It Works

  • The user drags a rectangular "rubberband" region over the desired header area on the document.
  • The command extracts the text within the selected region and creates a new Table Header Instance for the associated Table Instance.
  • Optional snapping features (see 'Text Snap' and 'Line Snap') help align the region to text or nearby lines, improving precision and consistency.
  • Existing column headers are cleared and replaced with the newly extracted header.

Usage Guidance

  • Use this command when table headers are not reliably detected by automated extraction or when manual adjustment is needed.
  • Ideal for documents with variable header positions, merged cells, or complex layouts.
  • Combine with snapping options to ensure the selected region matches the actual header boundaries.

Extraction Workflow

  1. Select the header region using the rubberband tool.
  2. Configure snapping options as needed for your document type.
  3. Execute the command to extract and assign the header.
  4. Review and adjust header cells if necessary.
