FilteringLevel

Grooper.IP

Specifies how aggressively the image will be filtered for noise prior to box detection.

Remarks

The Filtering Level enumeration controls the strength of median cross filtering applied to the image before box detection. Filtering can help reduce noise, smooth out jagged edges, and eliminate small imperfections that might otherwise interfere with accurate detection of check boxes.

Choosing the appropriate filtering level is important for balancing detection accuracy and performance:

  • Use a higher filtering level for noisy or low-quality images where box edges are irregular or broken.
  • Use a lower filtering level (or none) for clean, high-quality images to maximize detection speed and preserve fine details.

Review the "Filtered" diagnostic image to evaluate the effect of filtering and adjust the level as needed for your document type and image quality.
