CMIS Repository

Node Grooper.CMIS

Represents a logical container for documents on an external storage platform, when using a CMIS Connection.

Remarks

The CMIS Repository class provides a link between Grooper and a specific logical repository exposed by an external content management system or storage platform via a CMIS Connection. Each CMIS Repository acts as a gateway to a set of documents, folders, and content types managed outside of Grooper, enabling seamless integration for import, export, and automation.

A CMIS Repository is not created manually. Instead, it is imported from an existing CMIS Connection using the "Import Repository" command. This process does not copy any data into Grooper; it simply establishes a reference to the external repository, allowing Grooper to interact with its structure and contents in real time.

Typical Workflow

  1. Create a CMIS Connection:
    • Configure the connection to the external platform, specifying connection type and credentials.
  2. Import a Repository:
    • Use the "List Repositories" and "Import Repository" commands to select and link a logical repository from the external system.
  3. Configure Content Types and Behaviors:

Key Features

  • Live Integration:
The CMIS Repository provides live access to the external system's documents and folders, without duplicating data in Grooper.
  • Content Type Discovery:
Content types defined in the external repository are automatically discovered and can be used to configure import/export logic.
  • Query and Navigation:
Supports querying, browsing, and retrieving content using the CMIS standard, including support for metadata and content queries.
  • Repository Information:
Exposes detailed information about the external repository, such as its name, description, product version, and supported CMIS features.

Best Practices

  • Always use the "Import Repository" command to add a CMIS Repository to a CMIS Connection.
  • Review repository information and capabilities to ensure compatibility with your solution requirements.
  • Use the 'Search Results Page Size' property to control the number of results returned in queries for optimal performance.
  • If the external repository structure changes, use the "Reset" command to refresh cached information and ensure Grooper is synchronized.
