The Separation Viewer offers a comprehensive interface for reviewing, validating, and refining document separation results within a batch on Grooper's Review Page.
It is designed to help users ensure that documents are correctly separated and classified before batch processing continues, supporting both automated and manual separation workflows.

  • Appears as a tab on the Review Page when a Separation View is included in the Review configuration.
  • Enables users to inspect separation points, review classification results, and make corrections to document boundaries and types.
  • Supports rapid navigation, multi-selection, and batch operations for efficient review of large batches.

Main Components

  • Separation List: Displays all pages and folders in the current scope, highlighting separation points and showing classification results for each item.
    • Users can select one or more pages or folders to review their classification, adjust separation points, or assign document types.
    • Supports keyboard navigation, multi-selection, and context menu commands for batch operations.
    • Visual indicators show where documents will be split and which document type is assigned to each section.
  • Candidate List: For the currently-selected page(s), displays a ranked list of Document Type candidates, sorted by similarity or confidence.
    • Users can assign a candidate type to the selection, supporting both single and batch operations.
    • Includes search/filter functionality and keyboard shortcuts for efficient review.
    • Updates in real time as selections change in the Separation List.

Command Buttons and Context Menu Actions

The Separation Viewer includes a variety of toolbar and context menu commands to streamline the review process:

  • Append to Previous: Moves selected pages to the preceding document.
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + P
  • Prepend to Next: Moves selected pages to the next document.
    • Shortcut: Ctrl + N
  • Separate: Applies separation to the selected items.
    • Shortcut: Alt + S or Alt + double-click
  • Unseparate: Removes separation from the selected documents.
    • Shortcut: Alt + U or Alt + double-click
  • Assign Document Type: Assigns the selected Document Type to the current selection.
    • Enter: Assigns the selected type to the selected pages.
    • Alt + Enter: Assigns the selected type, resulting in single-paged documents.
    • Ctrl + Enter: Assigns the selected type only, without separating into documents.
  • Clear Search: Esc clears the search field in the Candidate List.

Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Use arrow keys, Home, End, or Page Up/Page Down to scroll and change the page selection in the Separation List.
  • Hold Shift while using navigation keys to extend the current selection.
  • Use Enter and its modifiers to assign document types as described above.
  • Esc clears the Candidate List search.

Usage Workflow

  1. Open a batch in the Review activity.
  2. Select the Separation Viewer tab to access separation review controls.
  3. Use the Separation List to navigate through pages and folders, reviewing separation points and classification results.
  4. Select one or more pages to review their candidate document types in the Candidate List.
  5. Assign or correct document types as needed, using keyboard shortcuts or context menu commands for efficiency.
  6. Adjust separation points by appending or prepending pages, or by applying or removing separation as required.
  7. Continue until all documents are correctly separated and classified.

Integration and Context

  • The Separation Viewer is tightly integrated with Grooper's separation and classification workflows.
  • It leverages the configured Content Model and separation logic to present candidate types and support manual correction.
  • Appears only when a Separation View is configured for the current Review activity.
  • All changes made in the Separation Viewer are immediately reflected in the batch structure and classification results.
