Batch Process Step - ESP Separation Tester

Provides an interactive environment for testing document separation and performing user-directed classification training on batches within a Batch Process Step.

The ESP Separation Tester tab is a comprehensive workspace for simulating, validating, and refining document separation logic within a Batch Process Step.
It is designed for solution designers and administrators who need to review separation points, adjust document boundaries, and train classification models before continuing batch processing.

Purpose

Use the ESP Separation Tester to preview the results of the Separate activity, review and adjust separation points, assign Document Types, and perform manual classification training.
This enables rapid feedback and iterative improvement of separation and classification logic, ensuring high-quality document organization and preparation for downstream processing.

UI Components

• Separation Viewer:
  • Displays a visual preview of separation points and classification candidates for the current batch or folder.
  • Allows users to review, adjust, and assign Document Types before finalizing separation.
  • Provides context menus and toolbar commands for separation, unseparation, and document type assignment.
  • Visual indicators highlight separation points and classification results.
• Folder Navigator:
  • Provides a pager for navigating between folders or documents in the current batch.
  • Essential for reviewing and testing separation across large or hierarchical batches.
  • Displays the current folder/document index and total count, with navigation buttons for first, previous, next, and last.
• Document Viewer:
  • Shows the content of the currently-selected page or document, supporting images, text, PDF, and other formats.
  • Provides essential context for making separation and classification decisions.
  • Includes navigation, zoom, and search features for efficient review.
• Action Buttons:
  • Preview: Runs the separation logic on the current batch or folder, updating the Separation Viewer with the latest results.
  • Browse: Opens a dialog to select a different batch for testing, enabling validation of separation logic across multiple scenarios.

Workflow and Scope

• The tab is enabled for Batch Process Steps configured with a Separate activity.
• Use the Folder Navigator to move between folders or documents in the batch.
• Review and adjust separation points in the Separation Viewer, assigning Document Types as needed.
• Use the Document Viewer to inspect the content of selected pages or documents for context.
• Click the {preview} button to re-run separation and update the results after making changes.
• Use the {browse} button to select a different batch for testing and validation.
• All changes are immediately reflected in the batch structure and classification results.

• Fully navigable by keyboard and mouse.
• Visual cues and highlighting indicate the selected folder, page, and separation points.

The Folder Number control provides a pager for moving between folders or documents in the current batch. Displays the current folder/document index and total count (e.g., "Folder 1 of 10"). Includes navigation buttons for first, previous, next, and last, enabling rapid movement through large or hierarchical batches. Updates the Separation Viewer and Document Viewer to reflect the selected folder or document. Usage Guidance: Use the navigation buttons or enter a folder number to jump to a specific item. The current selection is highlighted, and all viewers update to show the relevant content. Document Viewer	Document Viewer	►	Displays the currently-selected page or document for detailed review. Automatically selects the most appropriate viewer/editor for the document type. Provides navigation, zoom, and search features for efficient review. For paginated documents, includes controls to switch between pages. For text-based documents, supports searching and highlighting of terms. Context menu commands and toolbar buttons may be available for viewer-specific actions. Usage Guidance: The viewer updates automatically when you select a different folder, document, or page in the batch. Use built-in navigation and search features to explore the document and validate separation/classification decisions.
