Property Editor

Property Editors provide user interfaces for editing properties inside the Property Grid control.

Remarks

Some properties represent simple primitive types such as a string or integer value, and can be easily edited by typing a new value. Other properties may be more complex, requiring a user interface beyond a simple input box or drop-down list.

Consider a property which is a list of Behaviors. For a property of this type, the user needs to be able to pop up a list where they can add, edit, and delete Behaviors from the list. As another example, a string property which contains a CMISQL Query could be edited using a simple input control, but is much more usable with an editor which pops it out in the Code Editor control, where syntax highlighting and code completion features are available.

Editors are activated using the "..." edit button, which is shown to the right of a property value in the Property Grid. If a change is committed in the editor, the related property value will be updated.
