CMIS Folder

CMIS Object Grooper.CMIS

Represents a CMIS Folder object in a CMIS Repository.

Remarks

The CMIS Folder class provides a direct interface to a folder stored in an external CMIS Repository, enabling Grooper to interact with, organize, and automate content hierarchies without duplicating data.

Role and Usage

  • CMIS Folders are created automatically when browsing, importing, or synchronizing content from a connected CMIS Repository.
  • Each instance corresponds to a single folder in the external system, exposing its metadata, path, and child objects (such as documents and subfolders).
  • Users can view, create, move, or delete folders, as well as enumerate and manage their contents, subject to repository permissions.

Configuration

  • CMIS Folders inherit their configuration and available actions from the connected CMIS Repository and its content types.
  • The set of available properties (such as folder name, allowed child types, and path) is determined by the repository schema and may include custom metadata fields.
  • Changes made to a CMIS Folder in Grooper are synchronized with the external repository in real time.

Integration

  • CMIS Folders are used in import/export definitions, automation activities, and expressions throughout Grooper.
  • They enable seamless integration with enterprise content management systems, supporting scenarios such as hierarchical document ingestion, folder-based organization, and workflow automation.
  • Folder objects provide methods for creating child folders and documents, enumerating descendants, and validating allowed child types, supporting advanced automation and navigation scenarios.
