Highlight Zone

Value Extractor Grooper.Extract

Defines a region of a document to be visually highlighted, without extracting any data values.

Remarks

The Highlight Zone value extractor is used to visually mark a specific area of a document page for review or presentation purposes. Unlike other value extractors, it does not perform any data extraction or validation. Instead, it simply designates a region to be highlighted in the Grooper Data Viewer or other UI components.

This is useful in scenarios where you want to draw attention to a particular part of a document, such as a signature block, a section header, or a region containing important information, but do not need to extract or process the content within that area.

Configuration

  • Use the 'Location' property to specify the region to highlight. This can be configured as a fixed rectangle, a dynamic region based on document content, or a set of page regions.
  • The highlighted region will appear in the UI, helping users quickly identify areas of interest during review or validation.

Usage Notes

  • Highlight Zone does not affect extraction results or data validation. It is purely a visual aid.
  • Multiple highlight zones can be configured on a document to mark several regions.
  • This extractor is often used in conjunction with other extractors to provide context or guidance for data entry and review.

For more information on configuring highlight regions, see the documentation for Region Definition.
