Shape Region

Dynamic Region Grooper.Extract

Defines a region at or relative to the location where a shape has been detected.

Remarks

Defines a region (zone) that is dynamically positioned based on the location of a detected shape on the document.

Shape regions are ideal for extracting data from areas that are located at or near specific graphical shapes, such as checkboxes, logos, or other visual elements that may appear in different positions on each page.

This region definition depends on Layout Data generated by the Shape Detection or Shape Removal image processing commands during the Recognize activity. Before using it, ensure that the input documents have been pre-processed accordingly.

Usage Guidance

  • Use shape regions when the area to extract is always in the same position relative to a detected shape, but the shape may appear in different locations on each page.
  • Configure the 'Shape Name' property to match the name used in the Shape Detection or Shape Removal command.
  • Use the inherited properties (such as 'Anchor Point', 'Size', and 'Translation') to control the region's placement and size relative to the detected shape.
  • For text-anchored or fixed regions, consider using Text Region, Relative Region, or Fixed Region instead.
