Event-Based

Control Sheet Separation Grooper.Capture

Separates a batch into documents based on a configurable set of Separation Events, such as patch codes, barcodes, blank pages, detected shapes, or page content types.

Remarks

Overview

The Event-Based separation provider enables highly flexible document separation by evaluating a sequence of Separation Events on each Batch Page. Each event defines a specific condition—such as the presence of a barcode, a blank page, or a detected patch code—that can trigger the creation of a new document or folder.

Purpose and Role

  • Multi-Event Separation:
Supports combining multiple event types (barcode, blank page, patch code, control sheet, etc.) to handle complex separation requirements in a single provider.
  • Configurable Event Order:
Events are evaluated in the order they appear in the 'Events' property, allowing for prioritized or conditional separation logic.
  • Control Sheet Integration:
Optionally enables Control Sheet detection and processing as part of the event sequence.

Usage Scenarios

  • Mixed Separation Cues:
Separate documents using a combination of patch codes, barcodes, and blank pages, as commonly found in high-volume scanning environments.
  • Custom Event Logic:
Implement custom separation logic by defining and ordering multiple Separation Events to match your workflow.
  • Real-Time or Batch Processing:
Use in both real-time scanning and post-import batch separation scenarios.

Best Practices

  • Carefully configure the 'Events' property to include all desired separation triggers, and order them according to priority.
  • Enable 'EnableControlSheets' if you want to support Control Sheet detection in addition to other event types.
  • Test the event sequence on representative batches to ensure correct document boundaries and event handling.
