Barcode Detected

Separation Event Grooper.Capture

Triggers document separation when a specific barcode is detected on a page.

Remarks

Overview

The Barcode Detected event is part of event-based separation in Grooper. It allows you to split documents automatically by detecting barcodes on scanned pages.

  • Use this event to separate documents using patch codes, cover sheets, or any barcode-based workflow.
  • You can specify the barcode type, value, and a region to fine-tune detection.

Configuration

  1. Set the 'Symbology' property to the barcode type you want to detect (e.g., Code128, Patch, PDF417).
  2. Optionally, set the 'Value' property to only trigger on a specific barcode value.
  3. Optionally, define a 'Region' to restrict detection to a specific area of the page.
  4. Use the 'Preview Image' property to generate a printable barcode sheet for testing or use as a separator.

Viewable Properties

  • Symbology:
    The barcode type to detect.
Selecting 'None' will search for all supported symbologies, but this is slower and may increase false positives.

  • Value:
The specific barcode value to match.
If left blank, any value for the selected symbology will trigger the event.

  • Region:
The area of the page to search for the barcode.
If set, only barcodes fully within this region are considered.

  • Preview Image:
Generates a sample barcode sheet matching the current settings.
Click to preview or print a separator sheet.
