File System Import

File Import Grooper.Core

Provides import connectivity to file systems.

Remarks

The File System Import provider allows you to import files and folders from local or network file systems into Batches in Grooper.

You can configure the import to filter files by attributes, control how files are handled after import (such as moving or deleting them), and set up folder structures that mirror the source directory.

Import Source

  • Set the 'Base Directory' to specify the root folder to import from.
  • Optionally, include subfolders to import files from all nested directories.

File Filtering

  • Use 'Required Attributes' and 'Ignore Attributes' to include or exclude files based on their file system attributes (e.g., hidden, read-only).

Disposition

  • Choose how files are handled after import using the 'File Disposition' property:
    • Move: Move files to a new directory after import.
    • Delete: Delete files after import.
    • Flag: Set or clear file attributes after import.
  • When moving files, specify the 'Disposition Directory'.
  • When flagging, set 'Attributes To Set' and/or 'Attributes To Clear'.

> Note: Some options are only available depending on the selected 'File Disposition'.

Usage Notes

  • Ensure the Grooper service account has appropriate permissions to access the source and destination directories.
  • Avoid setting the 'Disposition Directory' to the same path as the 'Base Directory'.
  • Zero-length files and files exceeding the maximum file size are always ignored.
