A combination of the following flags:

The 'Symbology' property allows you to limit barcode extraction to a particular barcode type, such as Code 39, QR, or Data Matrix. By default, all supported barcode types are included (Symbology.All).

How to Configure

• Select the expected barcode type from the dropdown list to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.
• If you expect multiple barcode types, you can select more than one.
• Leave as Symbology.All to include all types.

Impact

Setting this property ensures that only barcodes of the specified type(s) are returned.
This is especially useful when documents consistently use a known barcode format.

Example

If your documents use QR codes for identification, set 'Symbology' to QR to ignore other barcode types.

The 'Region of Interest' property allows you to restrict barcode extraction to a specific area of the page. Only barcodes fully enclosed by the defined region will be captured.

How to Configure

• Use the zone editor to draw or specify the region on the page where barcodes are expected.
• Leave blank to search the entire page for matching barcodes.

Impact

Restricting the region can improve accuracy and performance, especially on documents with multiple barcodes or when barcodes are located in a predictable area (such as a label or form field).

Example

To extract barcodes only from the top-right corner of a page, define a region covering that area.

The 'Page Filter' property allows you to limit barcode extraction to certain pages of the document. Enter a single page number (e.g., 1), a comma-separated list (e.g., 1,3,5), or a range (e.g., 2-4). Combinations are supported (e.g., 1,3-5,7). If left blank, barcodes from all pages will be considered.

Examples

• 1 — Only extract from page 1.
• 1,3,5 — Extract from pages 1, 3, and 5.
• 2-4 — Extract from pages 2, 3, and 4.
• 1,4-6 — Extract from page 1 and pages 4 through 6.

Impact

Restricting extraction to specific pages can improve accuracy and performance, especially on multi-page documents where barcodes are only present on certain pages.

The 'Value Pattern' property allows you to filter barcode values using a .NET regular expression. Only barcodes whose value matches the pattern will be extracted. Supports standard and named groups for advanced extraction.

Examples

• ^\d{8}$ — Only 8-digit numeric barcodes.
• ^INV-(?<InvoiceNo>\d+)$ — Barcodes starting with "INV-" followed by digits, capturing the digits as a named group.

Impact

Filtering by value pattern helps ensure only relevant barcode values are extracted, reducing false positives and improving data quality.

The 'Output Group' property allows you to extract only the value of a specific named group from the regular expression match. If left blank, the entire barcode value is returned.

Example

If 'Value Pattern' is ^INV-(?<InvoiceNo>\d+)$ and 'Output Group' is InvoiceNo, only the digits after "INV-" will be returned.
