Read Barcode

The 'Detection Settings' property allows you to control how barcodes are detected and read:

• Symbologies: Select which barcode types (e.g., Code 39, QR, Data Matrix) to detect.
• Orientation: Specify the directions in which to search for barcodes (e.g., horizontal, vertical, all).
• Advanced Options: Adjust additional parameters such as scan interval, region of interest, or confidence thresholds.

Example

• To detect only QR codes and Data Matrix barcodes, set the symbologies accordingly.
• To improve detection on rotated documents, enable all orientations.

The 'Page Filter' property allows you to limit barcode extraction to certain pages of the document. Enter a single page number (e.g., 1), a comma-separated list (e.g., 1,3,5), or a range (e.g., 2-4). Combinations are supported (e.g., 1,3-5,7). If left blank, barcodes from all pages will be considered.

Examples

• 1 — Only extract from page 1.
• 1,3,5 — Extract from pages 1, 3, and 5.
• 2-4 — Extract from pages 2, 3, and 4.
• 1,4-6 — Extract from page 1 and pages 4 through 6.

Impact

Restricting extraction to specific pages can improve accuracy and performance, especially on multi-page documents where barcodes are only present on certain pages.

The 'Value Pattern' property allows you to filter barcode values using a .NET regular expression. Only barcodes whose value matches the pattern will be extracted. Supports standard and named groups for advanced extraction.

Examples

• ^\d{8}$ — Only 8-digit numeric barcodes.
• ^INV-(?<InvoiceNo>\d+)$ — Barcodes starting with "INV-" followed by digits, capturing the digits as a named group.

Impact

Filtering by value pattern helps ensure only relevant barcode values are extracted, reducing false positives and improving data quality.

The 'Output Group' property allows you to extract only the value of a specific named group from the regular expression match. If left blank, the entire barcode value is returned.

Example

If 'Value Pattern' is ^INV-(?<InvoiceNo>\d+)$ and 'Output Group' is InvoiceNo, only the digits after "INV-" will be returned.
