Creates a new Local Resources Folder as a child of this Content Type.

Remarks

Overview

The Create Local Resources Folder command adds a Local Resources Folder as a child of the current Content Type. This folder is used to store resources that are closely associated with the type, such as Lexicons, Data Rules, Extractor Nodes, Resource Files, OCR Profiles, and IP Profiles.

Purpose and Usage

  • Use this command when you need to attach supporting resources to a Content Type for use in extraction, validation, classification, or export.
  • Resources placed in a Local Resources Folder are automatically available to the Content Type and all its descendants, supporting inheritance and modular configuration.
  • Storing resources locally makes the Content Type more self-contained and portable, and reduces clutter in the Project.

Best Practices

Common Resource Examples

Inheritance and Portability

Resources in a Local Resources Folder are inherited by all descendant Content Types, supporting shared configuration and modular design. When exporting or moving a Content Type, its Local Resources Folder and all contained resources are included, ensuring the type remains functional and self-contained.
