Scan View

Folder View Grooper.Capture

Provides a user interface for document scanning.

Remarks

The Scan View class enables interactive document scanning by users on the Review Page.

Purpose and Usage

  • Adding a Scan View to a Review activity’s configuration causes the Review Page to display a Scan Viewer tab.
  • The Scan Viewer UI allows operators to select a scanner, adjust settings, scan pages, and review images in real time.
  • Typically used at the beginning of a Batch Process in document scanning and quality control workflows.

Key Features

  • Image cleanup and separation logic is applied in real-time during scanning using multiple threads. See Real Time Image Processor for more details.
  • Designed for environments where operators need to scan, clean up, and organize documents as part of an initial capture or quality control workflow.
  • The Scan Viewer control communicates with the Grooper Desktop scanning utility to access local scanning hardware.

Grooper Desktop Scanning Utility

The Scan Viewer tab requires the Grooper Desktop scanning utility to be installed on each workstation where scanning will be performed. Without the Grooper Desktop utility, the Scan Viewer control cannot communicate with scanners, and scanning functionality will be disabed. Administrators should ensure that the utility is installed and running on all workstations where scanning is required.

Typical Workflow

  1. The user opens a batch in the Review activity.
  2. The Scan Viewer tab appears, allowing the user to scan new pages.
  3. The user selects and configures a Capture Device and scans documents.
  4. Images are processed in real time using the assigned IP Profile.
  5. If a Separation Profile is configured, documents are split as pages are scanned.
  6. The user reviews, organizes, and completes the batch as usual.
