CMIS Export Map

Embedded Object Grooper.CMIS

Configures how Grooper fields are mapped to properties of a CMIS content type for export.

Remarks

The CMIS Export Map object defines the relationship between data extracted in Grooper and the properties of a target content type in a CMIS Repository. This mapping ensures that when documents are exported from Grooper, their data is correctly assigned to the appropriate fields in the external content management system.

How Mapping Works

  • Each entry in the export map corresponds to a property of the selected CMIS content type.
  • For each property, you can specify an expression that determines the value to export. This can be a direct field reference, a calculated value, or a static value.
  • Expressions are typically selected from a drop-down list of available Grooper fields, or edited directly for advanced scenarios.

Configuration Guidance

  • Use the property grid to review all writable properties of the target CMIS type.
  • For each property, select or define an expression that provides the desired export value.
  • Required properties must have a value assigned; validation will alert you if any required mappings are missing.
  • You can use the AutoMap command to automatically generate initial mappings based on name similarity and type compatibility.

Best Practices

  • Review all generated mappings to ensure they meet your business and export requirements.
  • Use calculated expressions to format, combine, or transform data as needed for the external system.
  • Regularly update the export map if the Grooper data model or the external CMIS type changes.
  • Test exports with sample data to verify that all required properties are populated and that data is formatted correctly.

Example Scenarios

  • Exporting invoice data from Grooper to a CMIS-based document management system, mapping fields like "Invoice Number" and "Total Amount" to the corresponding CMIS properties.
  • Combining multiple Grooper fields into a single CMIS property using a calculated expression.
  • Assigning static or default values to properties required by the external system but not present in the Grooper data model.
