Batch Transfer

Code Activity Grooper.Activities

Transfers a Batch to another Grooper repository using API Services.

Remarks

The Batch Transfer activity enables secure, automated movement of batches between Grooper repositories using web-based API Services. This is essential for distributed or multi-environment solutions, where batches must be processed or archived across different repositories.

How It Works

  • The activity connects to a remote Grooper repository using a configured Remote Repository and API key.
  • The selected batch is exported, transferred, and imported into the destination repository.
  • The batch is assigned to a specified Batch Process and Batch Process Step on the remote system.
  • Optionally, the batch can be set to a paused state after transfer, and the source batch can be deleted upon successful transfer.

Configuration Guidance

  • Ensure API Services are installed and configured on the destination repository.
  • Create and configure an API key for secure access.
  • Add a Remote Repository entry to the Root node of the source repository, using the API key.
  • Select the appropriate destination repository, process, and step for transferred batches.
  • Use the 'Start Paused' and 'Dispose Batch' options to control post-transfer behavior.

This activity is ideal for scenarios such as production-to-test migrations, distributed processing, or archiving batches to a central repository.
