Design Page

Web Page GrooperReview.Pages.Design

Provides a comprehensive user interface for developing, configuring, and testing Grooper projects within the repository.

Remarks

The Design Page is the central workspace for project designers and administrators in Grooper, enabling the creation, management, and testing of all configuration resources required for content processing.

Layout and Components

  • Tree Viewer:
Presents the full Grooper node hierarchy, allowing users to browse, select, and edit nodes such as Projects, Batch Processes, Content Models, and more. Expanding and selecting nodes updates the main workspace.
  • Design Tabs:
As nodes are selected in the Tree Viewer, one or more Design Tabs appear in the Design Tab Host, providing specialized interfaces for configuration, testing, and management of the selected node type. Tabs may include property grids, test panels, activity logs, and other node-specific tools.
  • Toolbar and Action Buttons:
    Includes navigation and utility buttons:
    • Back/Forward: Navigate through the node selection history in the Tree Viewer.
    • Refresh: Reloads the tree structure and clears the cache for the selected node and its descendants, ensuring the latest configuration is displayed.
    • Search: Opens the Search dialog for locating nodes and performing bulk property operations.
    • Download/Upload: Export selected nodes as a Grooper ZIP file or import items into the selected node, supporting solution migration and backup.

User Interactions

  • Browse and select nodes in the Tree Viewer to access their configuration and management interfaces.
  • Use Design Tabs to edit properties, run tests, and perform node-specific actions.
  • Employ toolbar buttons for navigation, searching, refreshing, and importing/exporting configuration.
  • Context-sensitive actions and tabs adapt to the selected node type, streamlining both granular edits and bulk operations.

Additional Notes

  • The Design Page is optimized for efficient, large-scale configuration and maintenance of Grooper solutions.
  • All controls are designed for both novice and advanced users, supporting keyboard and mouse navigation.
  • The export/import features facilitate solution portability and backup, but ZIP files are not compatible between major Grooper releases.
  • The page supports both granular configuration and high-level project management, making it the primary interface for solution designers.
