Remarks

The Classification Tester tab is a focused workspace for validating, refining, and training document classification logic within a Batch Process Step.
It is designed for solution designers and administrators who need to test classification results, assign document types, and improve training data before deploying changes to production.

Purpose

Use the Classification Tester to run the Classify activity on selected test sources, review ranked classification candidates, assign document types, and perform manual training.
This enables rapid feedback and iterative improvement of classification accuracy and training data.

UI Components

  • Test Source:
    • Presents a hierarchical view of available test data, such as batches, folders, or documents.
    • Selecting an item determines the input for classification testing and what is displayed in the Candidate List and Document Viewer.
    • Supports navigation and selection using mouse and keyboard.
  • Candidate List:
    • Displays a ranked list of classification candidates (Document Types) for the selected document.
    • Shows similarity or confidence scores for each candidate.
    • Allows assignment of a candidate type using mouse or keyboard (Up/Down to navigate, Enter to assign).
    • Supports user-directed training actions to improve classification accuracy.
    • Includes search/filter input for quickly locating document types.
  • Document Viewer:
    • Shows the content of the currently-selected document for review and context.
    • Supports a variety of document types and formats, including images, text, and structured data.
    • Provides visual context for reviewing classification results and making assignment decisions.

Workflow and Scope

  • The tab is enabled for Batch Process Steps configured with a Classify activity.
  • Use the Test Source to select the batch, folder, or document to test.
  • Review classification candidates in the Candidate List and assign the correct type as needed.
  • Use training actions to improve the underlying classification model.
  • The Document Viewer provides context for each classification decision.

Accessibility

  • Fully navigable by keyboard and mouse.
  • Visual cues and highlighting indicate the selected test source, candidate, and document.
  • Tooltips and context menus provide guidance for available actions and controls.
