Field Widget Annotation Grooper.Core

Places a PDF signature widget.

Remarks

Overview

The Signature Widget adds a digital signature field to the PDF at the location of the mapped Data Field. Use this to collect electronic signatures as part of document review, approval, or workflow processes.

Configuration

  • Add a Signature Widget annotation to the 'Annotations' collection of a PDF Data Mapping behavior.
  • Use the 'Fields' property to specify which Data Fields or Data Columns the signature field should represent.
  • The widget will be placed at the detected location of the field on the PDF.
  • Configure 'Allow Edit' to control whether users can interact with the signature field in compatible PDF viewers.
  • Set 'Print' to determine if the signature field appears in printed output.

Example Use Cases

  • Place a signature field at the bottom of a contract or form for electronic signing.
  • Require a digital signature for approval workflows or compliance documents.
  • Enable end users to sign PDFs directly in supported PDF viewers.

Notes

  • The appearance and interactivity of the signature field may depend on the PDF viewer used.
  • Only one signature can be applied per widget instance.
  • If the field location is not detected, no annotation will be generated.
