Batch Folder - Assign Document Type

Select the main document type that best represents the content of the folder.

• The primary type determines the Data Model used for extraction and validation.
• Only one primary type can be assigned at a time.
• Changing the primary type will update the folder's classification and may affect available data fields and behaviors.
• Use this property to correct misclassified documents or to set the type for new or imported folders.

Select one or more additional document types to supplement the primary type.

• Secondary types allow the folder to inherit extra data elements or behaviors from other types, supporting multi-type documents.
• The same type cannot be assigned as both primary and secondary.
• Use this property for documents that fit multiple categories or require additional fields.
• Secondary types are included in the expression environment, making their data available for extraction, validation, and export.

When enabled, this property instructs the command to attempt conversion of any existing index data, field values, and overrides from the current Content Type to the new or promoted type assignment.

• If the structure of the new type is compatible, data values will be mapped to corresponding fields in the new Content Type.
• If disabled, existing data is not converted and only the type assignment is changed.
• Enable this option to preserve as much data as possible during type changes, such as when correcting a misclassified document or promoting a secondary type to primary.
• Data conversion is only possible when the new Content Type shares compatible data elements with the previous type. Incompatible or missing fields will not be transferred.
