Batch Folder - Assign Document Type

Batch Folder Command Grooper.Core

Assigns a primary and optional secondary Content Type to the selected Batch Folder.

Remarks

The Assign Document Type command allows you to manually set the main Content Type (document type) for a Batch Folder and optionally assign additional secondary types.

Overview

  • Use this command to classify a folder or document by specifying its primary and secondary types.
  • The primary type determines the main classification and associated Data Model for extraction and validation.
  • Secondary types allow a folder to inherit additional data elements or behaviors from other document types, supporting multi-type scenarios.

Usage Guidance

  • Use the 'Content Type' property to select the main document type for the folder.
  • Use the 'Secondary Types' property to add one or more additional types, if needed.
  • Enable 'Convert Existing Data' to attempt to map existing data to the new type(s) where possible.
  • Enable 'Include Sibling Types' to automatically add all sibling types of the selected primary type as secondary types.
  • Assigning a new type will overwrite any previous type assignments.

When to Use

  • To correct or override automatic classification results.
  • To support documents that fit multiple categories or require additional fields from other types.
  • To prepare folders for extraction, validation, or export based on updated type assignments.
