CMIS Type Definition - Generate Local Type

CMIS Type Definition Command Grooper.CMIS

Generates a Grooper Content Type from a CMIS content type definition.

Remarks

The Generate Local Type command automates the creation of a local Grooper Content Type and associated Data Model based on the structure and properties of a selected CMIS content type.

This command streamlines integration with external content management systems by:

  • Mapping CMIS properties and secondary types to Grooper fields and sections.
  • Creating a new Content Type and Data Model that mirrors the schema of the external CMIS type.
  • Optionally including secondary content types and configuring which properties are imported.
  • Generating import and export definitions for seamless data exchange between Grooper and the CMIS repository.

Usage Scenarios

  • Onboarding new repositories or document types from a CMIS-compliant system.
  • Standardizing document types across multiple repositories or platforms.
  • Rapidly prototyping or setting up solutions that require alignment with external content schemas.

Configuration Guidance

  • Use the Secondary Types property to include additional CMIS secondary types as needed.
  • Select which CMIS properties to include in the generated Data Model using the IncludedProperties property.
  • Specify output options such as the parent Content Model, Content Type name, and location for the generated type.
  • Review and adjust the generated mappings and structure to ensure they meet your business and integration requirements.

> Note: This command is especially useful for accelerating solution setup and ensuring consistency between Grooper and external content management systems.
