Displays properties of a step alongside properties of its associated activity.

Remarks

The General tab provides a unified workspace for viewing and editing the configuration of a Batch Process Step and its associated Activity.
It is designed for solution designers and administrators who need to review, configure, and validate step and activity settings in a single, convenient interface.

Purpose

Use the General tab to inspect and modify the properties of the selected Batch Process Step and its Activity. This enables rapid configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of process steps and their underlying logic.

UI Components

  • Step Properties:
    • Displays all editable properties of the current Batch Process Step in a categorized, interactive property grid.
    • Supports inline editing, drop-down lists, expandable child properties, and contextual help.
    • Validation errors and help messages are shown in real time as values are changed.
  • Activity Properties:
    • Displays all editable properties of the Activity associated with the current step, using the same property grid interface.
    • Allows configuration of activity-specific settings, such as extraction rules, recognition options, or export parameters.
  • Action Buttons:
    • {save}: Commits all changes made in the property grids to the repository.
    • {cancel}: Discards unsaved changes and reverts to the last saved configuration.

Workflow and Scope

  • The tab is enabled for all Batch Process Steps in the Design Page.
  • Use the property grids to review and edit step and activity properties as needed.
  • Click {save} to commit changes, or {cancel} to discard edits and revert to the previous state.
  • Validation errors are indicated in the property grid and must be resolved before saving.

Accessibility

  • Fully navigable by keyboard and mouse.
  • Contextual help and validation messages are displayed for each property.
  • Tooltips, context menus, and keyboard shortcuts provide guidance for available actions and controls.
