Remarks

The Control Sheet General tab provides a unified workspace for configuring, previewing, and printing Control Sheets in Grooper. This tab is designed for administrators who need to define and print control sheets used to automate and streamline batch scanning workflows.

Purpose

Use this tab to edit the properties of a Control Sheet, preview its appearance, and prepare it for printing or deployment. Control sheets are special pages inserted into document batches to trigger automated actions such as document separation, classification, or dynamic adjustment of scanner and image processing settings.

UI Components

  • Properties Panel:
    • Displays all configurable properties of the current Control Sheet in a categorized, interactive grid.
    • Supports inline editing, drop-down lists, checkboxes, and expandable sections for complex properties.
    • Provides contextual help and validation for each property, ensuring correct configuration.
    • Right-click to access context menu commands such as Clear, Reset, Copy, and Paste.
  • Preview Panel:
    • Shows a live preview of the control sheet as it will appear when printed or inserted into a batch.
    • Supports navigation for multi-page control sheets, zoom, and fit-to-window options.
    • Allows users to verify layout, markings, and custom entry lines before printing.
    • Includes print preview and page information features. (See Page Viewer for more details.)

Usage

  • The tab is available for any Control Sheet node in the design tree.
  • Edit properties in the properties panel to define control sheet behavior, appearance, and encoded instructions.
  • Use the preview panel to validate the layout and ensure all required fields and markings are present.
  • Print the control sheet directly from the preview panel or export it for use in batch scanning workflows.
