Control Sheet - General

Configure, preview, and print control sheets.

Remarks

The Control Sheet General tab provides a unified workspace for configuring, previewing, and printing Control Sheets in Grooper. This tab is designed for administrators who need to define and print control sheets used to automate and streamline batch scanning workflows.

Purpose

Use this tab to edit the properties of a Control Sheet, preview its appearance, and prepare it for printing or deployment. Control sheets are special pages inserted into document batches to trigger automated actions such as document separation, classification, or dynamic adjustment of scanner and image processing settings.

UI Components

• Properties Panel:
  • Displays all configurable properties of the current Control Sheet in a categorized, interactive grid.
  • Supports inline editing, drop-down lists, checkboxes, and expandable sections for complex properties.
  • Provides contextual help and validation for each property, ensuring correct configuration.
  • Right-click to access context menu commands such as Clear, Reset, Copy, and Paste.
• Preview Panel:
  • Shows a live preview of the control sheet as it will appear when printed or inserted into a batch.
  • Supports navigation for multi-page control sheets, zoom, and fit-to-window options.
  • Allows users to verify layout, markings, and custom entry lines before printing.
  • Includes print preview and page information features. (See Page Viewer for more details.)

Usage

• The tab is available for any Control Sheet node in the design tree.
• Edit properties in the properties panel to define control sheet behavior, appearance, and encoded instructions.
• Use the preview panel to validate the layout and ensure all required fields and markings are present.
• Print the control sheet directly from the preview panel or export it for use in batch scanning workflows.

Properties	Property Grid	►	Displays properties of the control sheet. The Properties panel uses a categorized, interactive property grid to display and edit all configurable properties of the current Control Sheet. Properties are grouped by category and shown as rows with their name, value, and optional description. Supports inline editing, drop-down lists, checkboxes, color pickers, and expandable sections for complex or list properties. Provides contextual help and validation for each property, with a help window that updates as you select different fields. Right-click any property to access context menu commands such as Clear, Reset, Copy, and Paste. Validation errors are visually indicated, and error messages are shown in the help window. Keyboard navigation is fully supported, including multi-property selection for batch operations. Use this control to configure all aspects of the control sheet, including document separation, classification, image processing, and operator entry lines.
Viewer	Page Viewer	►	Displays a preview of the control sheet. The Viewer panel provides a live, interactive preview of the control sheet as it will appear when printed or inserted into a batch. Renders the control sheet with all current property values, including layout, markings, and entry lines. Supports navigation for multi-page control sheets, as well as zoom, fit-to-window, and full-resolution display modes. Allows users to verify the appearance and content of the control sheet before printing or deployment. Includes print preview, page navigation, and page information features. Provides region selection, image editing, and print/export options through toolbar buttons and context menus. Keyboard shortcuts are available for navigation, search, fit, and other actions. Use this control to ensure the control sheet is correctly configured and visually accurate before use in scanning workflows.
