Chat Page

This button will open the "Change Repository" dialog box. The Object List of this dialog box will be populated by connections to Grooper repositories established in GCC (Grooper Command Console). Selecting an entry other than the current active repository and pressing the OK button will change the environment you are viewing and interacting with for all Grooper pages to the newly selected repository.

This button will open a new tab in your browser pointed at Grooper Help. The destination within the Grooper Help page will change depending on what object you have selected in the Tree Viewer.

UI Components

• Menu List:

  • Supports separators and nested flyout submenus for organizing related commands.
  • Each menu item may display an icon, keyboard shortcut, and tooltip.
• Flyout Menus:
  • Submenus expand to show additional commands or grouped actions.
  • Flyouts are navigable by mouse and keyboard.
• Command Icons and Shortcuts:
  • Icons visually indicate the purpose of each command.
  • Keyboard shortcuts are shown for quick reference and accessibility.

Interactive Features

• Context Sensitivity:
  • The menu is built dynamically based on the selected object(s), their type, and the current workflow.
  • Only enabled and relevant commands are shown, reducing clutter and guiding users to valid actions.
• Keyboard Navigation:
  • Up/Down: Move between menu items.
  • Left/Right: Expand or collapse flyout submenus.
  • Home/End: Jump to the first or last item.
  • Escape: Close the menu.
  • Enter/Space: Execute the selected command.
  • Type any letter to jump to the next item starting with that character.
• Mouse Support:
  • Click to select and execute commands.
  • Hover to expand flyouts and view tooltips.

Use the Context Menu to perform actions quickly and efficiently on selected items in the Grooper UI. Right-click to open the menu and select the desired command. The menu adapts to the current context, ensuring only valid actions are available. Keyboard shortcuts and icons help users work faster and more accurately.

The Document Viewer control provides a unified interface for viewing, searching, and editing documents in the Grooper web client. It automatically selects the best viewer or editor for each document, supporting a wide range of file types and interactive features.

Purpose

• View, search, and edit documents of various types, including images, text, code, HTML, email, ZIP archives, and more.
• Switch between different document renditions and pages.
• Search document text and interact with content using specialized viewers.

Main Features

• Automatic Viewer Selection:
  The control inspects the document's type and content, then loads the most suitable viewer/editor:
  • Page Viewer: For paginated image documents (e.g., scanned PDFs, TIFFs).
  • Text Editor: For text, code, XML, JSON, and similar files, with syntax highlighting and completion.
  • HTML Viewer: For HTML documents.
  • Mail Viewer: For email files.
  • ZIP Viewer: For ZIP archives.
  • NdJson Editor: For newline-delimited JSON files.
  • Null Viewer: For unsupported or empty documents.
• Document Searcher:
  Provides search functionality for the text content of the current document.
• Rendition Management:
  Detects available renditions and selects the most appropriate one based on user input and available types.
• Dynamic UI:
  The viewer/editor is switched automatically by inspecting the file extension and MIME type of the active rendition.
• Contextual Properties:
  Properties such as 'Caption', 'Has Processed Text', and 'Is Paginated' provide context for the UI and enable advanced features.

The ChatConsole is presented as a dedicated panel or page in the Grooper UI, allowing users to ask questions, issue commands, and receive responses from the AI Assistant. It displays the full chat history, including user, assistant, and system messages, and provides tools for message management, formatting, and accessibility.

Key Features

• Message Input:

  • Type questions or instructions in the input box, or use voice recognition via the {talk} button.
  • Supports markdown, code blocks, and rich text formatting in both user and AI messages.
  • Press Enter or click {send} to submit your message.

• Conversation View:

  • Displays the entire chat history, with clear separation of user, assistant, and system messages.
  • Scroll through previous messages, expand/collapse system messages, and view message details.
  • Messages are grouped and color-coded for easy identification.

• Voice Features:

  • Activate voice recognition for input using the {talk} button.
  • Enable automatic narration of AI responses with {auto_narrate}.
  • Listen to individual messages using {narrate}, and stop narration with {stop}.

• Message Actions:

  • Copy the entire conversation ({copy_convo}), a single message ({copy_message}), or code blocks ({copy_code}).
  • Delete individual messages ({delete}) or clear the entire chat session ({clear}).
  • Expand/collapse system messages ({expand}) for detailed context.
  • Toggle between HTML and plain text views ({html}, {html_source}).

• Session Controls:

  • Show or hide system messages ({system}).
  • View diagnostics for the previous AI response ({diagnostics}).
  • Switch between HTML and plain text rendering for message content.
