Batch Object - Separate

Batch Object Command GrooperReview.BatchView

Apply separation to the selected items, creating new documents at the specified points.

Remarks

The Separate command splits the selected Batch Pages or Batch Folders into new documents at the chosen separation points. This is essential for finalizing document boundaries after scanning, import, or automated classification.

Usage Guidance

  • Select one or more items in the Separation List where new documents should begin.
  • Right-click and choose "Separate" or use the keyboard shortcut Alt + S (or Alt + double-click).
  • The selected items are used as separation points, and new documents are created starting at each point.
  • All pages in each new document are grouped and assigned the appropriate document type and page numbers.
  • The command is only enabled when the selection includes valid separation points (e.g., the start of a document).

Interactive Behavior

  • The UI updates to show new document boundaries and classification results.
  • Progress is displayed for batch operations, and undo/redo is supported.

When to Use

  • To manually correct or finalize document separation after automated processing.
  • To split a batch into individual documents for review, extraction, or export.
  • To address misclassified or incorrectly grouped pages.

For more information, see the documentation for Separation Viewer, Batch Page, and Batch Folder.
