Mail Export

Export Definition Grooper.Messaging

Exports content to mail servers using the IMAP protocol.

Remarks

Overview

The MailExport class enables Grooper to export documents as email messages to an IMAP-compatible mail server. This is useful for archiving, distributing, or integrating documents with enterprise mail systems.

Only documents with a MIME type of message/rfc822 may be exported using this provider.

Configuration

  • Mail Server Connection:
Configure the 'Mail Server', 'Port No', 'Use SSL', 'User Name', and 'Password' properties to connect to your IMAP server.
  • Target Folder:
Specify the destination mail folder using the 'Target Folder' property, or enable 'Export to Original Path' to use the folder from the original mail import.
  • Alternate Mailbox:
Use 'Alternate Mailbox Name' to export to a mailbox other than the default for the user.

Usage Notes

  • The export operation appends the document as a new message in the specified mail folder.
  • If 'Export to Original Path' is enabled, the Batch Folder must have an existing Mail Link with folder information.
  • The 'Link Name' property (inherited from Export Definition) can be used to label the exported mail link for tracking and round-trip scenarios.

Example Scenarios

  • Exporting scanned invoices as email messages to a shared mailbox for processing.
  • Archiving processed documents to a compliance mailbox for long-term retention.
  • Re-exporting documents to their original mail folder after processing or review.
