Resize

The 'Sizing Method' property controls how the Resize command calculates the output image size. Choose the method that matches your workflow:

• Scale Factor: Scales the image by the percentage specified in 'Scale Factor'.
• Target Resolution: Resamples the image to match the DPI specified in 'Target Resolution'.
• Change Resolution Only: Updates the image's resolution metadata without changing pixel data.
• Custom Size: Resizes the image to the explicit width and height specified in 'Custom Size'.
• Normalize: Adjusts the image to a square aspect ratio and repairs inconsistent resolution values.

The available properties and their effects depend on the selected method. See the remarks for each property for configuration guidance.

Specifies the percentage to scale the image when 'Sizing Method' is set to Scale Factor. Values greater than 1.0 enlarge the image, while values less than 1.0 reduce it. For example, a value of 0.5 reduces the image to 50% of its original size, and 2.0 doubles its size.

This property is ignored unless 'Sizing Method' is Scale Factor.

Example

• To reduce an image to half its size, set 'Scale Factor' to 0.5.
• To enlarge an image by 25%, set 'Scale Factor' to 1.25.

Specifies the desired resolution in DPI (dots per inch). When 'Sizing Method' is Target Resolution, the image is resampled so its resolution matches this value, adjusting pixel dimensions as needed. When 'Sizing Method' is Change Resolution Only, only the image's resolution metadata is updated, with no change to pixel data.

Use this property to standardize DPI across images for OCR, printing, or other workflows that require consistent resolution.

Example

• To ensure all images are 300 DPI, set 'Target Resolution' to 300 and use the appropriate sizing method.

Specifies the explicit width and height to resize the image to, when 'Sizing Method' is Custom Size. The value is ignored for other sizing methods.

You can specify the size using unit-aware values such as 8px, 1in, 2in, or 50%, 75%. See the Unit Size documentation for supported units and examples.

Example

• To create a 200x300 pixel thumbnail, set 'Custom Size' to 200px, 300px.

The 'Interpolation Mode' property determines the algorithm used to resample pixels during resizing. Higher-quality modes such as Cubic and Lanczos produce smoother results but may be slower. Lower-quality modes such as NearestNeighbor are faster but may introduce artifacts.

When enabled, anti-aliasing smooths the image during resizing, improving visual quality, especially when reducing size. For black and white images, enabling anti-aliasing will convert the output to grayscale.

This property is ignored when 'Sizing Method' is Change Resolution Only.

Example

• Enable anti-aliasing to avoid jagged edges when downscaling scanned documents.

The 'Command Type Name' property shows the user-friendly name of the IP Command as it appears in the Grooper UI. This helps users identify which command is being configured or executed, especially when working with IP Profiles containing multiple commands.

This property is read-only and is automatically set based on the command's type.

The 'Supported Pixel Formats' property lists the image pixel formats that the IP Command can process. If an image does not match one of these formats, the command will be skipped for that image.

• By default, all pixel formats are supported unless a derived command restricts this list.
• Example formats include Pixel8bppGrayscale, Pixel24bppBgr, and Pixel1bppIndexed.

Use this property to verify compatibility when building IP Profiles or troubleshooting why a command did not execute.
