Crop

IP Command Grooper.IP

Crops borders of an image by a specified amount or region.

Remarks

The Crop command is used to remove unwanted borders or regions from an image by either specifying an absolute region to retain or by defining the amount to crop from each edge. This command is commonly used to focus on the main content of a scanned document, remove scanner artifacts, or standardize image sizes for downstream processing.

Crop supports two main cropping strategies:

  • Absolute Region: Crop to a specific rectangular region, defined in logical units (inches).
  • From Borders: Crop a specified amount from each edge, also defined in logical units.

How It Works

  • Select the cropping method using the 'Method' property.
  • If using 'Absolute', specify the region to retain using the 'Crop Region' property.
  • If using 'From Borders', specify the amount to remove from each edge using the 'Border Size' property.

Configuration

  • Use 'Method' to choose between absolute region cropping and border-based cropping.
  • Configure 'Crop Region' or 'Border Size' as appropriate for your use case.
