Colorize

Colorize Command IP Command Grooper.IP

Replaces the hue, saturation, and luminance values in an image with those of a specified base color.

Remarks

The Colorize command is used to recolor an image by applying the hue, saturation, and/or luminance from a user-selected color (the 'Reference Color') to every pixel in the image. This is useful for creative effects, standardizing color tones, or emphasizing specific color characteristics across an image.

How It Works

When Colorize is applied, each pixel's color is transformed by replacing its hue, saturation, and/or luminance with the corresponding value from the 'Reference Color', depending on which options are enabled. This allows for fine-grained control over the resulting colorization effect.

  • Enable or disable the application of hue, saturation, and luminance independently using the 'Apply Hue', 'Apply Saturation', and 'Apply Luminance' properties.
  • The 'Reference Color' property determines the color values that will be used for the transformation.

Supported Pixel Formats

The Colorize command supports 24-bit RGB and 32-bit ARGB pixel formats. Images in unsupported formats will not be modified.

Usage Example

To tint an image with a blue hue while preserving its original luminance and saturation, set 'Reference Color' to a blue color, enable 'Apply Hue', and disable 'Apply Saturation' and 'Apply Luminance'.
