Auto White Balance

Auto White Balance Command IP Command Grooper.IP

Automatically adjusts the white point in an image.

Remarks

The Auto White Balance command analyzes the color content of an image and automatically adjusts the white point to correct color casts and improve overall color accuracy. This is especially useful for scanned documents or photographs where lighting conditions or scanner settings have introduced unwanted color tints.

The command works by estimating the ideal white point and shifting the image colors accordingly. The 'Dampening' property allows you to control the strength of the correction, preventing over-correction that can occur in real-world scenes.

Configuration

  • Use the 'Dampening' property to control how aggressively the white balance correction is applied. Higher values reduce the strength of the correction, resulting in a more subtle adjustment.

Diagnostics

Auto White Balance does not generate diagnostic images. The effect can be visually inspected by comparing the input and output images.

> Tip: Use Auto White Balance to standardize color appearance across batches of scanned images or to > prepare images for OCR and data extraction.
