Auto Adjust Levels

Levels Command IP Command Grooper.IP

Corrects the tonal range and color balance by adjusting the shadow, mid-tone, and highlights of an image.

Remarks

The Auto Adjust Levels command automatically enhances the appearance of an image by adjusting its black point (shadows), mid-tone (gamma), and white point (highlights). This process improves contrast, corrects color balance, and can make faded or poorly scanned images more legible and visually appealing.

The command allows for independent adjustment of gamma (mid-tone) for each color channel (red, green, blue), as well as precise control over the input and output color ranges. By setting the minimum, mid-tone, and maximum colors, you can fine-tune how shadows, mid-tones, and highlights are mapped in the output image.

Configuration

  • Use the 'Gamma R', 'Gamma G', and 'Gamma B' properties to adjust the gamma (mid-tone) for each color channel.
  • Set 'Minimum Color', 'Mid Color', and 'Maximum Color' to define the input black, gray, and white points.
  • Set 'Minimum Output' and 'Maximum Output' to control the output color range after adjustment.

Supported Pixel Formats

All pixel formats supported by the underlying Atalasoft imaging library are supported. The command will automatically convert images as needed.

Diagnostics

Auto Adjust Levels does not generate diagnostic images. The effect can be visually inspected by comparing the input and output images.

> Tip: Use Auto Adjust Levels to improve the clarity of scanned documents, correct color casts, > or prepare images for OCR and data extraction.
