XML Format

Select a Resource File containing your XML Schema definition (XSD).

• The schema is used to determine the structure and validation rules for the generated XML.
• To use, add your XSD file as a Resource File in your Grooper project, then select it here.
• If the schema references other XSD files, ensure those are also added as Resource Files in the same project folder.

• When enabled, fields with no value will be output as empty elements or attributes in the XML.
• When disabled, fields with no value are omitted from the XML.
• Use this option if the receiving system requires all fields to be present, even if empty.

• When enabled, sections (groups of fields) with no values will be output as empty elements.
• When disabled, empty sections are omitted from the XML.
• Enable if the schema or downstream system expects all sections to be present.

• When enabled, collections with no items (such as empty tables or repeating sections) will be output as empty elements.
• When disabled, empty collections are omitted from the XML.
• Useful for ensuring the XML structure is consistent, even when no data is present.

• When enabled, the generated XML is checked against the selected schema.
• Any validation errors or warnings are flagged on the document for review.
• Use this to ensure the XML meets the requirements of external systems or integrations.

The 'Always Build' property controls whether the export process should generate a file, even if a file of the appropriate export format already exists..

Usage

• Enable this option to ensure that the most current content is always exported, regardless of whether a file already exists.
• Disable to skip export if the output file is already present, which can improve performance in incremental or repeat export scenarios.

> Note:
> Overwriting files may impact downstream systems or integrations that rely on file timestamps or versioning.

The 'Page Skip Count' property specifies how many pages, starting from the first child, will be excluded from the merged export.

Usage

• Use this option to remove cover sheets, separator pages, or other non-essential content from the beginning of the output file.
• Set to 0 to include all pages; set to a positive integer to skip that number of leading pages.

Example:
If a Batch Folder contains 10 pages and 'Page Skip Count' is set to 2, only pages 3–10 will be included in the merged file.
