Overview

The Resource File - General tab provides a unified interface for viewing and editing the properties and file content of a resource file within the Grooper UI. This tab is typically accessed from a resource file node in the design workspace, allowing users to inspect metadata and directly view the file's contents side by side.

Layout and Interactive Components

The control is organized as a split view:

• Left Panel:
  • Displays a property grid for editing resource file properties.
  • Includes a toolbar with {save} and {cancel} buttons for committing or discarding changes.
• Main Panel:
  • Shows the file content using a document viewer, enabling users to preview the resource file directly.

The property grid supports inline editing. When changes are made, the {save} and {cancel} buttons become enabled. The {save} button commits property changes, while the {cancel} button reverts them to their last saved state. The document viewer updates automatically to reflect the current file content.

Usage Notes

• Use the property grid to edit resource file metadata.
• Use the {save} button to apply changes, or {cancel} to discard them.
• The file content panel is read-only and updates as changes are saved.
• Keyboard shortcuts and context menu commands may be available depending on the configuration.

Command Buttons

Button	Shortcut Key		Summary
save save		►	Save changes. The {save} button commits any edits made in the property grid to the resource file. It becomes enabled when there are unsaved changes. Click to apply all modifications and update the file's metadata.
cancel cancel		►	Discard changes. The {cancel} button reverts any unsaved edits in the property grid, restoring the last saved values. It becomes enabled when there are pending changes. Click to discard all modifications and reset the grid to its previous state.

Child Controls

Properties	Property Grid	►	Displays the properties of this resource file. The 'Properties' control presents a property grid for viewing and editing metadata associated with the current resource file. Users can modify property values directly within the grid. Changes made in the grid can be saved or discarded using the {save} and {cancel} buttons in the toolbar above the grid.
Viewer	Document Viewer	►	Displays the file content associated with this resource file. The 'Viewer' control provides a read-only preview of the resource file's content. This panel updates automatically to reflect the latest file state after changes are saved. Use this viewer to inspect the file without leaving the Resource File General tab.
