Batch - General

Batch Design Tab GrooperReview.Pages.Design

View and manage the properties, processing status, and key actions for a selected Batch.

Remarks

The Batch General tab provides a comprehensive interface for reviewing and editing the properties of a Batch, monitoring its processing status, and performing essential batch operations. This control is designed for both day-to-day batch management and advanced troubleshooting, offering real-time updates and direct access to batch commands.

Purpose

Use this tab to inspect and modify batch properties, view processing information, and execute core batch actions such as pausing, resuming, resetting, or updating the batch process. The interface is optimized for clarity and efficiency, supporting both production and test environments.

UI Components

  • Toolbar:
Located at the top of the tab, the toolbar provides quick access to batch commands:

    • {pause}: Pause batch processing.
    • {resume}: Resume a paused batch.
    • {reset}: Reset the batch to a specific process step.
    • {update}: Change or update the associated batch process.
    • {review}: Open the batch in the Review Page (opens in a new tab or window).
    • {goto_process}: Navigate to the associated Batch Process and set this batch as the current test source.
    • {save}: Save changes made to batch properties.
    • {cancel}: Discard unsaved changes and revert to the last saved state. Button states are context-sensitive, enabling or disabling based on the batch's current status and whether there are unsaved changes.
  • Property Grid:
The main panel displays a categorized, interactive grid of all editable properties for the selected batch.

    • Edit properties inline, with real-time validation and contextual help.
    • Changes are tracked, and the {save} and {cancel} buttons become active when edits are made.
  • Batch Info Viewer:
A dedicated panel shows the current processing status, step, and other key metrics for the batch.

    • Updates automatically at regular intervals, with refresh rate slowing during periods of inactivity.
    • Provides a real-time overview of batch progress and health.
  • Splitter Controls:
The layout uses splitters to allow resizing of the property grid and info viewer panels for optimal viewing.

Usage Guidance

  1. Use the toolbar to pause, resume, reset, or update the batch as needed.
  2. Edit batch properties directly in the property grid.
    • After making changes, click {save} to apply or {cancel} to revert.
  3. Monitor the batch's processing status and details in the info viewer panel.
  4. Use {review} to open the batch in the Review Page for detailed inspection or manual review.
  5. Use {goto_process} to jump to the associated Batch Process for workflow management or troubleshooting.
