ACL Editor

Provides a user interface for editing Access Control List (ACL) properties, allowing users to manage permissions for users and groups.

Remarks

The ACL Editor control enables users to view, search, and modify the list of principals (users or groups) that have access to a Grooper object. It is designed for configuring security and permissions in a clear, interactive manner, supporting both direct editing and search-driven selection of principals.

UI Components

• Access List:
  • Displays the current list of principals included in the ACL.
  • Each entry shows the principal's name, description, and an icon indicating user or group.
  • Supports multi-select for batch removal.
• Search Input Box:
  • Allows users to enter search text to filter available principals.
  • Press Enter to perform the search.
• Search Results List:
  • Shows principals matching the search criteria.
  • Double-click or press Enter to add a selected principal to the Access List.
• Toggle Button:
  • Switches between viewing users and groups.
  • Icon changes to indicate the current view.
• Delete Button:
  • Removes the selected principal(s) from the Access List.
  • Keyboard shortcut: Delete.
• Search Button:
  • Executes the current search.
  • Icon: search.

• Principal Management:
  • Add principals by searching and selecting from the results.

Usage Guidance

Use the ACL Editor to configure which users and groups have access to a Grooper object. Search for principals using the input box, add them to the Access List, and remove them as needed. Toggle between users and groups to find the correct principal. The editor ensures that only valid principals are added, and provides visual feedback for each action.

delete delete	Del	►	Delete the selected ACL entry. Purpose The Delete button removes the selected principal(s) from the Access List, revoking their access to the Grooper object. Usage Select one or more entries in the Access List. Click the delete button or press Delete to remove them. The list updates immediately to reflect changes. Accessibility Keyboard shortcut: Delete. group toggle		►	Toggles between Groups and Users views. Purpose The Toggle button switches the search and results view between users and groups, helping users find the correct principal type. Usage Click the toggle button to switch between users and groups. The icon updates to indicate the current view. Search results and available principals are filtered accordingly. search search		►	Execute the current search. Purpose The Search button performs a search for principals based on the entered text and current view (users or groups). Usage Enter search text in the input box. Click the search button or press Enter to execute the search. Results are displayed in the Search Results list.
