HTTP Link - Rename Attachment

HTTP Link Command Grooper.Messaging

Renames the local attachment file to match the linked resource's name and MIME type.

Remarks

The Rename Attachment command updates the filename of the local attachment in the Batch Folder to reflect the resource name and file extension derived from the current 'URL' and MIME type.

This command is typically used after loading or updating content from an HTTP resource to ensure that the local attachment's filename is consistent with the linked resource. This helps maintain clarity and traceability between the local file and its source, especially when exporting, auditing, or integrating with downstream systems.

When executed, the command determines the appropriate filename based on the current 'URL' and the MIME type of the attachment, then renames the local file accordingly and updates the database.

Usage Guidance

  • Use this command after loading content from an HTTP resource to synchronize the local filename with the source.
  • This is especially important if the URL or MIME type has changed, or if the attachment was loaded with a generic or placeholder name.
  • The command is available from the context menu of the HTTP Link and can be executed manually or as part of a post-load workflow.
  • Ensure that the Batch Folder has a local attachment before executing this command; otherwise, no action will be taken.
