Batch Folder - Remove From Index

Batch Folder Command Grooper.GPT

Removes the current document from one or more search indexes, making it no longer discoverable via search or retrieval.

Remarks

The Remove From Index command is used to delete a Batch Folder (document) from all associated search indexes, or from a specific index if specified. This operation is essential when a document should no longer be available for search, such as after deletion, reclassification, or when correcting search index state.

When to Use

  • Use this command to remove a document from search results after it has been deleted, reclassified, or is no longer relevant.
  • Run the command to clean up search indexes if a document was indexed in error or needs to be excluded from discovery.
  • Use in automated workflows to ensure search indexes remain synchronized with the current batch content.

Requirements

How It Works

  • By default, the command removes the document from all search indexes it has been added to.
  • If a specific index is selected in the 'Index Name' property, only that index is affected.
  • The document is deleted from the index, and any associated chunked (RAG) entries are also removed if applicable.
  • Once removed, the document will no longer appear in search results or be available for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or AI-powered features.

Usage Scenarios

  • After deleting or archiving a document, run Remove From Index to ensure it is no longer searchable.
  • When correcting classification or search index assignments, use the command to remove outdated or incorrect entries.
  • Use as part of batch cleanup or migration processes to maintain accurate and up-to-date search indexes.

> Note: This operation is irreversible. Once a document is removed from a search index, it must be re-indexed to become > searchable again.
