File Store - Test Connection

File Store Command Grooper

Tests the connection to the file store.

Remarks

The Test Connection command verifies that the selected File Store is accessible and functioning correctly. It performs a series of test operations—writing, reading, and deleting a temporary file—to ensure that Grooper can interact with the storage location as expected.

When to Use

  • After configuring or changing the 'Storage Path' of a File Store.
  • When troubleshooting file access issues or validating permissions for Grooper services and users.
  • As part of routine maintenance to confirm ongoing accessibility of storage infrastructure.

How It Works

  • The command creates a temporary test file in the File Store's storage path.
  • It then reads the file to confirm data integrity and deletes it to verify write and delete permissions.
  • If all operations succeed without error, the connection is considered valid.

> Note: If an error message is displayed, review the storage path, network connectivity, and permissions for the Grooper service account and users.
