File Store - Move Objects Here

File Store Command Grooper

Migrates selected objects and their files to this file store.

Remarks

The Move Objects Here command transfers one or more Nodes and all associated files to the selected File Store. This is useful for expanding storage, archiving, or reorganizing file content across multiple file stores in a Grooper repository.

When to Use

  • To migrate batches, projects, or other nodes to a new or different File Store for capacity, performance, or organizational reasons.
  • When archiving older data to a lower-cost or offsite storage tier.
  • To balance storage usage across multiple file stores.

How It Works

  • Select the File Store you want to move objects into.
  • Use the 'Objects To Move' property to select one or more Nodes (such as batches, folders, or projects).
  • Execute the command. All files and references for the selected nodes and their descendants are migrated to the destination file store.
  • The operation is logged, and a summary of files moved is provided upon completion.

> Note: Ensure that the destination File Store has sufficient free space and that all Grooper services have access to the new storage location. The command cannot be undone; review your selection carefully before proceeding.

For more information about file store management and migration, see the documentation for File Store.
