Embedded Object Grooper.Extract

Defines the properties and configuration of a label within a Label Set.

Remarks

Overview

A Label Info object represents a single label definition within a Label Set, mapping a specific text string (or set of alternates) to a Data Element on a Document Type. Labels are used to identify fields, columns, headers, footers, and other data elements during extraction and classification.

Each label can specify its text, layout, parent label, padding, volatility, and whether it is expected on the first page. Labels may also have alternate versions to support variations in document layouts or terminology.

Role in Extraction and Classification

  • Labels are matched against document text to locate and extract values for Data Fields, Data Sections, and Data Tables.
  • The configuration of each label—including its text, layout, and parent—affects how reliably it can be detected in semi-structured or variable documents.
  • Volatile and first-page flags help control classification and separation logic.

Usage Guidance

  • Define clear, unambiguous label text for each Data Element to maximize extraction accuracy.
  • Use alternate versions to support common label variations or synonyms.
  • Configure parent labels and padding for complex layouts, such as nested tables or multi-level headers.
  • Mark labels as volatile if they are optional or not always present, to avoid false negatives during classification.
  • Use the first-page flag for labels that consistently appear at the start of documents, aiding in document separation.
