Horizontal Alignment Settings

Grooper Object Grooper.Extract

Settings for filtering extraction results based on horizontal alignment.

Remarks

The Horizontal Alignment Settings object allows you to configure how Data Instances are filtered based on their horizontal alignment relative to a reference region on the page.

Use this to isolate results that are consistently aligned (left, center, or right), such as columnar data, centered titles, or values in a specific region.

Configuration and Usage

  • Set the 'Alignment' property to specify the required alignment (left, center, or right).
  • Use 'Relative To' to determine whether alignment is measured against the page, the text region, or the median text edge.
  • Adjust 'Tolerance' to control how strictly results must match the alignment, in inches.
  • Use 'Maximum Width Ratio' to exclude results that are too wide relative to the alignment region.

Multiple alignment settings can be combined with other filters (such as region or font size) for precise targeting of results.

Typical Scenarios

  • Columnar Data:
Isolate values that are left- or right-aligned in a table or form.
  • Headings and Titles:
Target centered or wide headings at the top of a page.
  • Consistent Formatting:
Exclude results that do not match the expected alignment or are too wide to be valid.

For more information, see the documentation for Result Filter and Data Instance.
