ZIP Format

Merge Format Grooper.Core

Exports a Batch Folder as a ZIP archive containing all file attachments, images, and custom export outputs from descendant objects.

Remarks

The ZIP Format enables export of Grooper documents as standard ZIP files, suitable for delivery, backup, or integration with downstream systems.

Overview

  • Packages all attachments and images from a Batch Folder and its descendants into a single ZIP archive.
  • Optionally includes outputs from additional Export Formats, such as merged PDFs or metadata files, as specified in 'Included Export Formats'.
  • Preserves the folder structure and file names for easy navigation and extraction.
  • The output file is named using the item's display name, with a .zip extension.

Usage

  1. Select ZIP Format as the export format in your Export activity.
  2. Set 'Include Child Attachments' to control whether all descendant attachments and images are included.
  3. Add one or more Export Formats to 'Included Export Formats' to include custom outputs in the ZIP archive.
  4. Configure the 'Compression' property to control the compression level for files in the archive.
  5. The export will include all selected content, maintaining the batch hierarchy.

Configuration Guidance

  • Enable 'Include Child Attachments' to deliver a complete package of all original files and images for a batch.
  • Use 'Included Export Formats' to add custom exports, such as PDFs, text files, or metadata, alongside original attachments.
  • Adjust the 'Compression' property to balance file size and export speed according to your workflow needs.
