XML Metadata

Metadata Format Grooper.Core

Exports document-level metadata in XML format for integration, reporting, or downstream processing.

Remarks

The XML Metadata format outputs structured metadata from Batch Folders or documents as an XML file.

Overview

  • Produces XML output suitable for integration, archiving, or data exchange.
  • Supports both a legacy XML structure and a modern, schema-driven format.
  • Optionally includes parent document data in the output.
  • The file extension for the output can be customized using the 'File Extension' property.

Usage

  1. Select XML Metadata as the export format in your export activity.
  2. Set 'Legacy Format' to control whether the legacy or modern XML structure is used.
  3. Set 'Include Parents' to include or exclude parent document data (only available in the modern format).
  4. Optionally, specify a custom 'File Extension' for the output file.

When to Use

  • When downstream systems require metadata in XML format.
  • For integrations where a structured, standards-based data format is needed.
  • When exporting both current and legacy XML for compatibility.

> Note:
> This format is intended for document-level metadata export. It does not export metadata for individual Batch Pages.
